Chapter Newsletter
Chapter 164 publishes a quarterly newsletter designed to provide the bargaining unit information on topics relevant to the Union and labor practices. The newsletter also provides chapter leaders with a means of getting information out to those they represent on what is happening in the area.
Suggestions for articles or question on the newsletter content, or anything for that matter, are always welcome. Please feel free to e-mail the newsletter editors.
Current Issue
Second Quarter of 2016, Vol 1, Issue 14 - contains information from the Chapter President concerning the Goldstein Arbitration, Milestones: the retirement of Kurt Clemen, and updates on local grievances, negotiations, and issues.

First Quarter of 2016, Vol 1. Issue 13 - contains information on the current state of contract bargaining, a report on NTEU President Reardon's visit to Chapter 164, Legislative Grassroots Issues and updates on local grievances, negotiations and issues.
Fourth Quarter of 2015, Vol 1, Issue 12 - contains a new year update regarding big national cases that NTEU is currently pursuing and an update on local grievance, negotiations and issues.
Third Quarter of 2015, Vol 1, Issue 11 - contains information concerning the recent wildfires in Eastern Washington, Article 37: Leave Draw, Back Pay settlements, milestones and updates on local issues and grievances.
Second Quarter of 2015, Vol 1, Issue 10 - contains information about the OPM data breach, retirement, TEPAC, Weingarten rights, leave for new parents, venomous pests at our ports, chapter leaders' contact information, and an update on local grievances and issues.
First Quarter of 2015, Vol 1, Issue 9 - contains information concerning the power of membership, NTEU President Kelley retiring, National Issues Update, staying hydrated, chapter leaders' contact information, and an update on local grievances and issues.
Fourth Quarter of 2014, Vol 1, Issue 8 - contains information concerning the Goldstein Arbitration update, feeding animals at the ports, election message from Chapter 164 president, and an update on local grievances and issues.
Third Quarter of 2014, Vol 1, Issue 7 - contains information concerning the upcoming elecion, forced overtime on Fridays, free speech in the workplace and words from the Chapter 164 President on solidarity.
Second Quarter of 2014, Vol 1, Issue 6 - contains information on the upcoming chapter elections as well as information on the Blaine AP Suggestion Program.
First Quarter of 2014, Vol 1, Issue 5 - contains information on the upcoming renegotiation of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and what suggestions have been put forward for improvment by the Chapter. Additionally, the updates on various greivance and negotiations contain some very interesting reading.
Fourth Quarter of 2013, Vol 1, Issue 4 - due to the holidays and lack of any significant updates, no newsletter was published for this quarter.
Third Quarter of 2013, Vol 1, Issue 3 - contains information on the joint Management / Union morale visits that were conducted this quarter along with some good information on how you can make your voice, as a federal employee, heard. Finally, it wraps up with information on how your dues support Union operations and the tangible benefits they've produced so far.
Second Quarter of 2013, Vol 1, Issue 2 - contains information on why union membership is important, liability/criminal insurance for CBPOs, your rights regarding notification of investigation results, and recent NTEU arbitration wins that should put money in some employee's pockets.
First quarter of 2013, Vol 1, Issue 1 - Includes articles on writing award packages, 5 CFR 6101 (scheduling), the SFO/NTEU joint human resource survey, and what to be aware of when ordered to write a memorandum.
